Air Tailwind 79 'Parachute'

The Air Tailwind 'Parachute' from Nike. This is probably Nike's most important sneaker. Originally conceived by aerospace scientists, this was the first ever sneaker to use pockets of air within the sole unit of a running shoe. It saw it's debut appearance at the Honolulu marathon in 1978 and had its fist release for sale in 1979. This release sees the Tailwind 79 in a parachute beige with accents of white. It features many of the DNA traits of Nike: waffle sole unit, suede and mesh uppers, foam tongue and the iconic fat Swoosh.
